5 Energy Foods

Foods are our body's fuel.  Skip your meal and fatigue sets in quickly. But don't just eat because you are hungry.  The food you consume determines your energy level. Here are 5 foods that can help you have feeling more energized all day long.

1. Water.
This is an often overlooked performance enhancing supplement. More than 70% of our body is made out of water. All of the body main organs needs adequate water to function. Depriving it of water makes it works harder and this in turn takes extra energy. By keeping yourself hydrated, you are ensuring your body's vital organ runs smoothly and this will make you feeling energized through-out the day.

2. Oatmeal.
This is a food that is rich in high quality complex carbohydrates and energy boosting vitamin Bs. It is also a source of soluble fiber.

3. Seeds.
Seeds such as flax, hemp, quinoa and chia, provide minerals, antioxidants, omega-3 and healthy fats.

4. Banana.
Bananas are rich in potassium.  And potassium is important because it keeps your nervous system functioning properly. Potassium also balances your blood ph level and help in muscle building.

5. Fish.
Cold water fish such as salmon, mackerel and herring provide excellent omega-3 supply. Besides being among a few foods that can supply Vitamin D, they are also rich in complete protein, magnesium, potassium and energy boosting vitamin B.

Needless Exhaustion

Do you stay up late browsing the TV channel or surfing the net when you have work to do in the morning? Do you get worked-up on trivial things? If you do, then you are expanding your energy needlessly.

Energy is not infinite. No matter the supplement you take, the human body cannot perform its best after a certain point and completely breaks down if you ignore the warning signals.

To perform at your optimum best, it is important that you expand your energy at the right things. Avoid things and people who suck your energy for no good reason.

Don't Go To War Everyday

Are you going to war everyday? Are you fighting hard everyday? Is everything a matter of life and death to you? Do you treat everything with the same seriousness? Is every e-mail, memo, letter, comment, is of the same importance to you?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then you are going to be a spent force sooner rather than later.

Working hard on everything everyday is tiring and consumes our resources in more ways we can see. To enjoy life and work, we must be able to sieve what is important from what is not.

Each of us have different priorities and everyday brings different challenges. Some will be more important than others and demands more from you. Others have lesser importance and a few will be of no value to you. Know the difference and eliminate those things that have no consequences to you. Forget it and focus your energy on the things that will affect you.
