Hi Again

Hi there.

To those who follow this blog, I would like to say thank you. This is my first post for the year and the first since November of last. I didn't decide to take a break, it just happen that way.

In December of last year, after a month on non-writing, I did contemplate about stopping for good. I don't have anything new to say on self improvement. I believe I have covered all the important points. And there are thousands of website dealing in this.

I decided to continue after I realised that this is the one avenue where the common man can reach the masses. To have a voice no matter how small and distant is important. I need that.

I will be posting more articles about health and nutrition. I will also write more on achieving financial freedom and living the simple life.

You are welcome to comment. Thanks again for reading

The Method of The Masters.

Can you imagine Kaiser building the Great Coulee Dam without writing down each step to free his mind for the next step? And Einstein in figures, Dr Bush in his atomic research, all great writers: Churchill. Brisbane, Kipling, etc?

Figures are exact things, clear, always the same. Life problems are complex, vague, changing . If we can’t even solve problems in figures which are clear and exact, how can we expect to solve life problems, which are not clear and exact, without pencil and paper? We can’t.

It ‘s difficult for most people to believe that a certain exact method of handling such commonplace item as thoughts will produce almost magical results; whereas a slightly different  method of handling the very same thoughts will produce ordinary results or no results at all.
Substitute the process of writing for the process of mere thinking and you’ll surprise even yourself. You can multiply your power without a minute’s preparation. Try it once right where you are. Tear off a sheet of wrapping paper and write. Don’t worry about the mood you are in.

Writing is the best mood creator ever discovered.

In three minutes you can prove that deep down within the hidden recesses of your subconscious mind lies a vast storehouse of power, energy, ideas waiting for your conscious mind to turn on the switch and start the flow of ideas by writing. It might lift you like a switch to undreamed of heights. If you only turn on the switch by writing. But don’t think mere silent thinking will act as the switch. It won’t. In an electric switch the two wires must touch, make contact. So must pencil and paper make contact, touch to turn on ideas.
The mechanical aid for creating an endless flow of useful is writing. If you have ordinary ability and want to find yourself turn that ordinary ability into extraordinary achievement your surest and shortest path to your goal is to write.

After you wrote your first word or idea or sentence, did that reduce your allotted total of possible ideas? No. It increased it. Why? New ideas are formed by comparing and combining old ideas and parts of old ideas in new combinations or arrangements. The more you write the more new ideas you’ll create to form more building blocks for more new ideas. Don’t stop writing when you read your written words and find them dull even stupid.

You first attempts at walking and talking and riding a bike were just as crude. Where would you be if you had quit because your first efforts brings no rewards. Most successful people succeed because they do things failures don’t like to do, or lack the will power to do.
Doing what you know you ought to do when you don’t feel like it develops will power, character, and all other success traits.

Don’t wait for an inspiration or spirit to move you. Move the spirit. Waiting for the right mood to write licks more people than lack of talent. Write and the mood will come. Burn this into your memory so you’ll never forget it: Inspiration sometimes leads to writing, but ten times more often writing leads to inspiration. Edison said: Genius is one percent inspiration and 99% perspiration.

The Five Mental Laws

Dr Walter Doyle Staples wrote about the five mental laws in his excellent book, Think Like A Winner. Today's entry is inspired by that.

1. Law of cause and effect

This is the first and most important law.  For everything that we do, there is a reaction. Where we are today is a direct reaction to the things that we have done. This also means that if you want to be somewhere better, you have to do things better.

This law is basic and universal and all the other four laws are corollaries of this.

2. Law of Control

This law simply says that when you take responsibility you are in control. By taking responsibility for your life, you will be able to control it. Most people are happy to let others to control their lives so that they escape the responsibility. It is always somebody's fault; the government, their spouse, the in-laws, it is never them. Little do they realize that while they whine and complain, time passes and they are being left behind.

Remember that the story of your life is written by you. So take responsibility for it.

3. Law of Belief

This laws says that whatever you accept and believe, it becomes reality. Accept and believe that you will become better everyday and you will see the changes for the better.

Accept and believe that you are doomed and soon that will be your station.

Beliefs are your choice. Keep a positive belief for positive outcomes.

4. Law of Concentation

Focus, focus and focus. Whatever you concentrate on will grow in your life.

There are ten millions things to pull your mind in one way or the other. To concentrate you must first learn to silent your mind. There are many tools to help to achieve a quiet mind, mediation is one of them.

5. Law of attaction

This law simply says that you will always bring into reality what you first create mentally. Think positive and happy thoughts  and that is what you life will be. Think negative and you will see many negative things in your life.

Binaural Beats

Getting Into the Rhythm of Binaural Beats With Brainwave Entrainment

The entire building trembled from the reverberations as the Japanese drummers of Kodo reached new crescendos. The traditional opera goers at New York’s Lincoln Center were engaged but not a toe was tapping. The rhythmic beats of the drums had lulled the crowd into a hypnotic trance.  Drums have been altering states since ancient shamanic tribes began dancing on the earth, but modern man has only recently become consciously aware of the binaural beats behind this phenomenon.

The use of auditory stimulation to induce meditative states and alter consciousness has been growing in popularity.  Binaural beats are a form of mind altering brainwave entrainment. When two sounds close in frequency are played, one into each ear, the brain synthesizes these frequencies to produce a third, lower frequency equal to the difference between the two.  For example, frequencies of 250 and 260 hertz (hz) would create a binaural beat of 10 hz. This low frequency beat plays in a rhythmic pattern due to a wavering effect, or oscillation, within the central nervous system.

One of the most powerful applications of binaural beats is in brainwave entrainment: the ability to tune into specific brainwaves – alpha, beta, theta, delta or gamma, for example – to control brainwave activity.  In brainwave entrainment, binaural beats have numerous applications, including to:

Achieve a deeper state of relaxation during meditation – When neurotransmitters in the brain pick up brainwave activity, they begin to make changes in brainwave activity. Binaural beats allow one to choose specific frequencies to achieve the desired meditation result. For example, deep relaxation can be achieved with binaural beats in the alpha range (7-11 Hz). For a deeper meditation, try theta (4-6 Hz) waves.  Lucid dreaming is achieved in the delta (4 Hz)
Alter consciousness – Meditation is the act of altering consciousness. The experience may range from achieving a deeper state of relaxation – more alpha waves – to experiencing more extreme changes in consciousness, such as one that can induce an out-of-body experience (OBE). Binaural beats activate the brain’s reticular activating system which, in turn, stimulates the thalamus and cortex, altering the elements of consciousness.  Mental states that can be affected by expanding consciousness include arousal states, attentional focus and level of awareness, according to the Monroe Institute, which pioneered work in brainwave entrainment and binaural beats in the 60s and 70s.  The Monroe Institute views binaural beats as one of several techniques used in a guided induction process to alter consciousness.  A seminar or brainwave entrainment tape is a good place to start.[1]

Reduce symptoms of ADD/ADHD – Symptoms of ADD/ADHD, one of the autism spectrum disorders, include social, behavioural and language deficits. Although the exact causes of ADD/ADHD are still being investigated, these deficits relate to underactive areas of the brain caused by abnormal brainwave frequencies that affect beta brainwaves.  When it comes to normalizing brainwave activity in a person with ADD/ADHD, binaural beats can hit just the right frequencies.

Binaural beats have been applied in many other areas, including sleep induction, pain management, stress reduction and in the treatment of depression.
Brainwave entrainment through binaural beats is a powerful and easily accessible tool for inducing a new state of mind.  If the shamanic drummers could use binaural beats to harmonize the earth’s frequencies, consider the life-enhancing benefits of actively using them in your life.

Free from Mind Clutter

To free mind from clutter,  transfer what is in your mind to another, more physical medium. It can be paper or computer. This act of transferring is done by writing.

By writing on a physical medium our thoughts, we are free up space in our mind. By writing down our thoughts, we can more easily organize our thinking. Writing makes possible complex thoughts possible.

Use a diary, either paper or electronic, to write down your personal thoughts. Use a planner to for your activities. Pick what suits you. Some  use one type of material to write down everything and others use different materials for different areas in their life. What you use to pen down your thoughts are not as important as having easy access to them when you need.

Try this simple technique and liberate yourself.
